River Ivel: The VAC are now members of the Ivel Protection Association which provides members with access with nearly eight miles of river in addition to our own stretch near Sandy. Full details have been added to the fisheries section.

UFO over Riverside 
A casual glance towards the Riverside Road vicinity one sunny June day would have called for a double-take. Is it a bird, is it a plane? No, it's the new Portacabin facilities being lifted over the old railway bridge and onto our Riverside Road fishery.

 

Along with the new 'club house' the club can now boast catering capability for our matches and proper Ladies & Gents toilets, the latter, unfortunately, though will only be open for club events.

Juniors Welcome

The first Ladies, Juniors and Over 60's match of the season was well attended with 26 in total fishing in pleasant late June conditions.

 

The fishing was reasonable with T Rumsey taking top on the day and top over 60's with 14-11-0. Pictured here is Matt Lakin with his 8-2-0 catch of crucians, roach (to 1-4-0) and skimmers which was good enough for top junior and third overall. Full results can be seen here.
