New
Riverside Rd Three Hour Match Record
The first
evening match of the current season was a close contest with two 30lb plus
weights being recorded. Top on the night was Ray Cormack who set a
new record for the venue with an all roach catch and he also won a case of
groundbait from Angling Times.
Suffice to say that the exclusive
Clubman winner's cap is too small !!!

Reports for all the results of club events. Not that I featured
highly in the recent Pairs Match. After four hours for 8oz at Riverside
Rd, Peg 3 I packed up and popped down to Marford
Farm with my son Joe. Three hours later we had carp of 7lb,
7-8 and
barbel to 3-8.

Women &
Children First!
|
The VAC
have always recognised the need to encourage juniors for they
are our adult members of the future.
We do this in a number of ways, for
example, children under 12 can fish club waters free of charge
when accompanied by an adult member. |

Also, the club runs a number of Junior,
Lady and OAP matches throughout the season and the first this
Summer at Frogmore was won by Sue Jones with 13lb
12oz.
Second with 9lb 9oz was 9 year old Ernie Arrowsmith and 8 year old Jenny
Kiddle was third with 3lb 12oz.

Weights were generally
disappointing but the fact that Sue landed three & lost
six other carp proves that the fish can be hooked when you get
the method right.
* Landing them is another challenge
! *

Now some of you reading this
might think that I'd rather be updating this web site than go
fishing. Let me assure you that's not true. So make my life
easier (please) by submitting your contributions.
Any articles, photos and comments
would be welcome. With a thousand members I'm sure some of you
must be capable of producing some quality photos of fish from
club waters. To start the ball rolling here's a great
composition of a chub from Marford Farm by member Jim Bristow.
