News at August 2001

Latest reports from Turnford suggest a long awaited upturn in sport following new management policies which should help to see a return of the reputation held by the Consortium some years ago of being one of the best fisheries in the Lea Valley. New stocking policies have already resulted in the Boot pit receiving two and a half thousand small Carp which have helped to encourage the existing stock of Tench and Bream into feeding. 40lb bags of fish are now not uncommon on pleasure sessions with Carp to 8lb, Tench and Bream to 6lb.

Marsh Pit has produced Catfish to 23lb with a number of smaller specimens reported together with some fine Tench to 8lb.

Railway pit reputed to have Carp close on 40lb has produced fish to 27lb so far this season. Tench to 8lb are also reported. Fast growing Carp are to be introduced later this year. Lea pit has produced Bream to 11lb so far this season with Tench up to 10lb also reported. Generally noted for the big bream -  season 2000 saw bags of fish to 90lb.
