Verulam Angling

Tingrith Coarse Fishery was established in 1995 by former Browning boss Terry Freeman. His dream was to create a fishery that was dedicated to  anglers. He wanted to create a powerful sense of place for the angler whilst offering superb fishing in a beautiful environment.

Over the years Tingrith, near J12 of the M1 just north of Luton, has strived towards this philosophy. The fishery, now run by his wife Ann Freeman and her team, comprises of three very different lakes offering a wide variety of sport to all.

The VAC agreement with Tingrith

At no cost to the club, members on production of their VAC club card, can accrue a  'loyalty stamp' and after three paid visits to the venue, gain a fourth visit free of charge.

Fringe Pool

A rare treat for anglers. At approximately 1.5 acres with a capacity of 25 swims Fringe has an abundant array of species. Fringe is the kind of lake  where you do not know quite what will feed next. Although it is famed for it's Crucian Carp their are plenty of Common Carp, Tench, and Golden Orfe to surprise you. And when all else fails the Rudd and roach fishing on light tackle can be exhausting and spectacular. The match record for Crucians is  75lb in 3 hours!

Orchid Lake

At 6 acres this enigmatic lake is perhaps the most challenging. Get it right though and the sport can be phenomenal! Orchid holds a huge head of Tench to 11lb, double figure Carp to 25lb, Chub, Bream and Crucians, not to mention a  giant 37lb Catfish that inhabits the depths. The Roach and Chub fishing in  the winter is excellent with Silver fish matches regularly won with 20lb plus of pristine roach. In the summer do not ignore the margins!

Cherry Lake

Probably the most scenic of the 3 lakes. Approximately 3 acres in size in the shape of a Referees whistle!! This lake is chock bloc with beautiful  ghost, common and mirror carp between 1lb and 20 lb. There are also specimen Chub to 6lb, some huge Tench and awesome still water roach to 2.5lb. The  match record is held by Dave Vincent at 157lb!!

On the site itself cars are safe and secure, food is available at the on site Hungry Perch cafe and bait and terminal tackle are available in the  Bait Cabin. Clean Toilets are also on site.

Staff at Tingrith  are very much looking forward to meeting the Verulum AC members, so please feel free to request advice of information from their two  PAA qualified angling coaches Matt or Ian.
