Verulam Angling Fisheries

MARFORD FARM

WHAT CAN we say about Marford Farm? Situated on the River Lee just outside Wheathampstead on the Welwyn Garden City road, it is a superb fishery with almost a mile of bank. A typical small Marford Farm barbel

Quality roach are taken in good numbers and barbel to 6lb have been taken more regularly over recent years. There are also carp, chub and the odd dace, trout and even grayling to be found.

It should be mentioned here that the club was only able to take over this venue because of the amount of litter that was left when the fishery was open to the public. Thus it should be noted that we are very hard on members that leave litter behind.

Note that the club views a member is responsible for the litter in his swim regardless of how it got there. No tins or bottles are allowed. Members should check their rule books and fishery notice boards for further rules that may apply.
